What are the advantages of an automatic irrigation system?

Automatic irrigation systems are not only convenient for today's busy homeowners, but when properly designed and installed they will help to conserve water while saving you time and money.

What are irrigation zones and is there a standard number for each yard?

Each type of landscape material has different watering needs.  In designing an irrigation system, we will determine that area A needs X amount of water and area B needs Z amount.  These are grouped into "zones" that will allow for the proper watering schedules.  Ground cover, for example, requires a totally different amount of water than shrubbery and they should be grouped accordingly.  Every yard is different and the number of zones cannot be pre-determined without a professional consultation.  It takes some rather complex computations to be able to design the system properly.  In irrigation, one size does not fit all.
